South Carolina Beta Chapter

Our fraternity was formed with the goal to establish a brotherhood within which dignity is divine and individuality is essential. Our endeavors involve the development of individuals into virtuous and multifaceted leaders: the leaders of tomorrow. We seek leaders with the merits of honesty, loyalty, generosity, insight, and responsibility. Individuals who look to better themselves as well as the community as a whole. We strive to cultivate a brotherhood in which commitment and involvement are part of an intimate camaraderie comprising academics, athletics, leadership, community support, and moral decency. Within Sigma Alpha Epsilon we strive to create the complete gentleman.

Further, Sigma Alpha Epsilon is you and thousands of other men who share in the pursuit of a more meaningful and enjoyable experience in college and beyond. You will find through SAE that the friendships you sow and cultivate in college will flourish for life. Sigma Alpha Epsilon is a national fraternity with over 8,200 active members in 47 states. Since our founding at the University of Alabama in 1856, we have initiated more than 290,000 men into our brotherhood; more than any other fraternity. Over 225 SAE chapters may be found on college campuses. These chapters emphasize leadership and involvement of their members in the life of the college community. It's more than just a badge, it's a fraternity for life.

The South Carolina Beta Chapter at USC Upstate was colonized on August 12, 1998 and received its charter on March 25, 2000. Since then over 100 men at USC Upstate have been worthy of the honor to call themselves an SAE.
