Fall 2011 Rush Schedule is now available.
In April, Sigma Alpha Epsilon will be holding the first annual Paddy Murphy Week. During the week of April, 11-15th. The list of events that will be taking place through out the week are;
Monday- Jokes for Japan 7pm CLC Ballroom; $2 for entree
Tuesday- Dunking Booth 9a.m.- 4p.m. CLC, Campus wide clean up at 5pm.
Wednesday- Brother Auction. Location TBD
Thursday- Field Games- Upper Quad 5 p.m. Cornhole, water balloon fight, capture the flag, etc...
The money raised through the various events will go to the American Red Cross, Childrens Miracle Network, and some as well for the brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon to send a member to the 76th annual Leadership School.
January 2011 - SC Beta successfully completed it's Spring Rush Week. We are pleased to announce Matt Mason, Thomas Ho, Gunnar Parker, Phillip Worthington, and JJ Grindstaff have been initiated as Sigma Alpha Epsilon Spring 11' pledges.
January 22, 2011 - The brothers of SC Beta spent a combined 27 hours cleaning up chapter sponsored Valley Falls road. This was a time of bonding and fun all the while serving our wonderful Upstate community.
January 2011 - We are proud to announce that USC Upstate alum and Sigma Alpha Epsilon brother Damon Owens received a Purple Heart for his service overseas. We are all so very proud of his sacrifice and are honored to call him a brother.
September 25th, 2010 - The brothers of South Carolina Beta took part in a community service activity where they all contributed in helping pick up trash on Valley Falls Road in Spartanburg, SC. It is also worth noting that this road is one of the main highways passing by our campus and is sponsored by this wonderful chapter.
August 4th - 9th, 2010 - Brother Tyler Newton embarked on Sigma Alpha Epsilon's Leadership School cruise. This was an incredible time for him to meet brothers from all over the country and share in the wonderful traditions of this great Fraternity. He departed out of Miami and proceeded to take in beautiful Key West, Florida and on to Cozumel, Mexico. His favorite part of the trip was learning once again our rich history which in turn reminded him the reasons of deciding to join and how it is not only the greatest fraternity but an absolute privilege to be a part of it. We see his rejuvenated spirit daily in regards to the daily decisions he makes which has made us all better brothers in the process.
March 28th, 2010- Brothers Nic Swint and Tyler Newton have recently started to coach youth soccer teams in the Greater Area of Spartanburg AYSO
soccer organization. Brother Nic Swint is currently coaching a U12 team. Brother Tyler Newton is Coaching a U19 team. The coaching is on a
voluntary basis and the time put in by these men is on there own account to help the young children of Spartanburg learn and obtain the knowledge of
the game.
Feb. 28th, 2o1o - All month long SC Beta has been collecting donations for the Spartanburg Humane Society of Spartanburg, SC. The Brothers of SC Beta
were able to collect about $150 in donations as well as collect supplies for SHS.
Feb. 27, 2010 - The Men of Sigma Alpha Epsilon attended the Converse benefit concert to help orphans in Haiti. The Concert which was held at Converse College was put together by the college organization STAND. This Organization was founded by Madison Webb and Lisa Godenick. The Proceeds where given to Rice Bowls, a local ministry that provides food to orphans around the world. SC Beta gave to Rice Bowls, a donation of an allotted amount to help the cause for Haiti.
